Cindy Lam is a seasoned aviation executive with nearly 24 years of distinguished service at Cathay Pacific, where she has built an exceptional career spanning multiple continents and diverse operational areas. Recently appointed Senior Vice President, Americas, Lam leads the region by implementing vision, strategy and business plans in line with the Head Office functional strategy and policy to optimize overall regional performance. Under Lam’s leadership, the region will continue to evolve and adapt to modern passenger expectations while maintaining the high standards of service excellence that have defined the airline's reputation for decades.
Previously, Lam served as General Manager Customer Care since July 2021, during which time she led the airline's customer service strategy and operations, ensuring world-class passenger experiences across Cathay Pacific's global network.
Throughout her tenure with Cathay Pacific, Lam has demonstrated remarkable versatility and leadership across various critical functions. As Head of Strategic Planning and Projects in the Flight Operations Department from 2017 to 2021, she played a pivotal role in shaping the airline's operational strategy and executing key initiatives that enhanced efficiency and service delivery.
Lam’s deep understanding of customer experience stems from her extensive background in product management, where she served as Manager Product for Economy Cabins and Inflight Entertainment from 2013 to 2017. In this role, she was instrumental in developing and enhancing passenger amenities and entertainment systems that elevated the travel experience for millions of customers.
Her international expertise was cultivated through significant regional leadership roles, including her tenure as Country Manager Vietnam, where she oversaw all aspects of Cathay Pacific's operations in the Vietnamese market from 2009 to 2011. She also served as Chief Representative of the Pearl River Delta Region, where she navigated complex regional markets and build strategic partnerships across Greater China.
Lam’s comprehensive understanding of airline operations extends to revenue management, logistics, and strategic planning. Her early career included roles in revenue planning, inflight sales and logistics, and executive support positions that provided her with a 360-degree view of airline operations. This diverse experience has equipped her with unique insights into the interconnected nature of airline services and the critical importance of customer-centric decision making.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Cindy brings a global perspective to her current role, having worked across multiple markets including Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, and Mainland China. Her deep operational knowledge make her an invaluable leader in Cathay Pacific's continued commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, helping move people forward in life, and maintaining Cathay Pacific’s position as one of the world’s premium lifestyle brands.
